Help children with cancer travel to treatment.

Compass to Care’s mission is to help children with cancer get to their life-saving treatments. Not every hospital in America is equipped to treat children with cancer. In fact, 30% of children diagnosed with cancer do not have an oncologist within 60 miles of them. Miles raised through Miles on a Mission directly help children get to and from their treatments. Providing this travel to and from hospitals helps lift some of the burden from parents and families, so they can focus on getting the best possible treatment for their child. In 2017, 8-year-old Mason was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. He and his family had the opportunity to enroll in a specialized treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City to give him the best chance to beat the cancer. He lives in Wichita, Kansas, so he had to travel to New York City multiple times a year for 4-day trips to get scans and injections. Over the last year, Compass to Care was able to provide seven trips to and from his home. Two of those round-trips were made possible by the miles donated through Miles on a Mission. As of July 30, 2020, Compass to Care has raised 251,561 miles through Miles on a Mission campaigns to support their important mission of saving lives.
