The generosity of United MileagePlus members makes it possible for Americares to save lives and improve health around the world. Using donated miles, Americares emergency responders travel to disaster zones as emergencies are unfolding, bringing life-changing health programs to remote communities around the world, and knowledge and resources to nearly 1,000 safety net health clinics in the U.S. Americares envisions a world in which all people have pathways to health and opportunity: Your donated miles are helping to realize that vision. Americares is a health-focused relief and development organization that saves lives and improves health for people affected by poverty or disaster. Each year, Americares reaches 90 countries on average, including the United States, with life-changing health programs, medicine, medical supplies and emergency aid. Americares responds to more than 30 natural disasters and humanitarian crises worldwide each year, establishes long-term recovery projects and brings preparedness programs to communities vulnerable to disasters. Americares relief workers are among the first to respond to emergencies and stay as long as needed, helping to restore health services for survivors.
